What is Azeroth Survivors?
Azeroth Survivors is a free, fan-made survivors-like (think Vampire Survivors or Megabonk) built on the look and spells of World of Warcraft 1.12, the Classic era. It runs on a from-scratch engine written in Rust, works in a WebGPU browser or as a Windows download, and needs no account or server. It was created by Aethus and blew up across YouTube and Reddit in October 2026.
A run is simple to start and hard to master: you only move, your class spells fire on their own, and every level-up asks you to choose one of three upgrades. Between runs your class earns talent experience, which is how weak heroes become screen-clearing ones.

How a run works

Pick a hero
Race, gender, class and zone. Racials matter: Gnomes get luck, Orcs get Blood Fury, Undead cheat death.

Survive the horde
Move with WASD. Your spells cast themselves. Pick up experience wisps and gold the dead leave behind.

Draft your build
Every level-up deals three cards coloured like WoW loot: new spells, higher ranks or passive buffs.

Break the bosses
Bosses arrive on a schedule and enrage below 30% health. Guardians wait in lairs. The final boss ends the zone.

Grow between runs
Every run pays talent experience to your class. Unlock talent milestones, capstones, gear, zones and achievements.

What is Azeroth Survivors?
Azeroth Survivors is a free, fan-made roguelike in the style of Vampire Survivors, set in World of Warcraft Classic. You pick one of 9 classes and 8 races, survive waves of monsters while your spells cast themselves, choose upgrades on every level-up and beat a boss schedule that ends with a final boss. It is made by Aethus and is not an official Blizzard game.
Where can I play Azeroth Survivors?
Right here: press Play at the top of this page to load the official browser build. It also runs directly at wow.aethus.pl, with no account and no install. Who made Azeroth Survivors?
A developer known as Aethus, who publishes it for free at wow.aethus.pl, with updates and bug reports on the official Discord. It is a fan project: not made, endorsed or sponsored by Blizzard Entertainment, and this guide is not affiliated with Aethus.
Is Azeroth Survivors free?
Yes. The game is free and has no login or account. It is a fan project, so there is no store, no subscription and no Steam page at the time of writing.
Do I need World of Warcraft to play?
No. The browser and Windows versions are self-contained. You do not need a Blizzard account or a WoW subscription.
What is the best class in Azeroth Survivors?
For most players right now: Hunter, Warlock or Mage (our S tier). Hunter and Warlock combine safety with huge damage; Mage clears fastest but is fragile. If you are new, Paladin or Warrior are the easiest to finish a zone with. See the full tier list.
Why does the game say my browser has no WebGPU?
The browser version needs WebGPU. Use a current Chrome, Edge or Safari. On Linux Chrome, enable chrome://flags/#enable-unsafe-webgpu. If it still fails, use the Windows download. More fixes on the troubleshooting section.
How long is a run?
It depends on the zone. In Elwynn Forest, the first zone, the final boss (Edwin VanCleef) arrives at 16:00. After the final boss dies you can keep going in endless mode.
